Immigration to Paraguay

Your hosts will readily answer any important question in regards to immigration matters. Basically, any person intending to immigrate to Paraguay needs a passport with a minimum validity of three months subsequent to date of entry to the country. In addition, he needs a birth certificate and a police clearance certificate (with a validity of three months). The birth and clearance certificates must be legalized by the General Consulate of Paraguay in the country of origin. In Paraguay, such documents must be translated (considerably much cheaper than what it would have cost in the immigrants' native country) and, after the opening of an account in foreign currency, he should prove the possession of a capital of at least US$ 10.000 (amount which may be immediately used of soon after) or as evidence of an investment made (purchase of a property or house, establishment of a company or something similar).

The cost of documents for establishing residence is relatively low up to this time, the country has its doors open to immigrants and foreign investors.
